MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS 10/3/2011

MONDAY NIGHT RAW
10/3/2011

in LAFAYETTE, La.

A coalition of Superstars threatened legal action against Triple

Former Superstars The Miz and R-Truth were taken away in handcuffs after assaulting John Cena, CM Punk, newly crowned WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio and several WWE officials and cameramen at WWE Hell in a Cell, but their arrest hasn’t deterred them from tormenting Triple H. The pair filed assault charges against the COO Monday morning after he pummeled them while they were handcuffed by police, and WWE’s EVP of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis seemed confident that Harvard-educated legal guru David Otunga was responsible for the litigation. Otunga evaded Laurinaitis’ accusatory questioning, but nevertheless validated the former Superstars’ grievances.

At the urging of Vickie Guerrero, a somber Del Rio, Christian, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler presented their case to the WWE Universe, while Otunga encouraged all Superstars to contemplate legal action against Triple H for creating an unsafe working environment.

The group’s complaints didn’t sit well with the COO, who refused to dignify the legal threats. Instead, he reminded Del Rio, Christian, Rhodes, Swagger, Ziggler and Otunga that they’re in WWE to compete – not complain – and would participate in a 12-Man Tag Team Match WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom, Mason Ryan, Sheamus, CM Punk and John Cena!

John Cena, CM Punk, Sheamus, WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom & Mason Ryan def. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio, Christian, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & David Otunga

Enemies collided and rivalries were reborn in this massive 12-man tag team main event, scheduled earlier in the night by Triple H. Immensely proud of his tainted WWE Title win on Sunday, Alberto Del Rio once again took the fight to his Hell in a Cell opponents John Cena and CM Punk, who led the charge against The Mexican Aristocrat and a veritable “who’s who” of WWE’s most devious competitors.

In the end, The “Great White” Sheamus – who soundly defeated Christian one night early – scored a victory for his team with a well-timed Brogue Kick to U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler.

WWE Pay-Per-View: Hell In A Cell 2011

WWE Pay-Per-View: Hell In A Cell RESULTS
10/2/2011
in NEW ORLEANS

Alberto Del Rio def. John Cena and CM Punk in a Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match (New WWE Champion)

Destiny (and chaos) once again smiled on Alberto Del Rio, who ventured into “Hell” for the first time this Sunday and attained his second WWE Championship The Mexican Aristocrat overcame both CM Punk and defending titleholder John Cena in an epic Triple Threat Hell in a Cell encounter, but his monumental triumph inside Satan’s Structure was arguably eclipsed not only by the controversial circumstances of his victory but by the frenzied aftermath of the match itself.

All three these competitors put forth an impressive effort as they vied for WWE’s grandest prize in the most barbaric of environments, but it was The Mexican Aristocrat who emerged from this career-threatening encounter with the WWE Championship after nailing Punk with a steel pipe. However, none of these battle-tested ring warriors anticipated the brutality that former WWE Superstars The Miz and R-Truth had in store for each of them and the entire WWE Universe after the match.

Before Miz and Truth could wreak havoc at the end of the night, Cena, Punk and Del Rio collided in one of the most cruel Hell in a Cell Matches to date, bending steel chairs, denting steel steps and even splintering a table inside Satan’s Structure as they vied for The Champ’s illustrious title. Sensing that his employer might need a little help overcoming two seasoned Hell in a Cell competitors in Cena and Punk, Del Rio’s personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez attacked the referee and pilfered the key to the Cell door. Then, as the referee was incapacitated, Rodriguez opened the portal to The Devil’s Playground, handing Del Rio a steel pipe to ensure that the moneyed Mexican’s first foray into the unforgiving structure would be a fruitful one.

The action spilled outside the ring, where a well-timed swing of Del Rio’s pipe left Cena sprawled on the concrete outside the confines of the Cell. Del Rio then ventured back into Satan’s Structure and locked the door behind him, turning an unpredictable Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match – the first in WWE history – into a far more manageable one-on-one scenario. Del Rio then threw the key underneath the ring to lock Cena out of the structure and take him out of the match for good.

Inside the Cell, Punk seemed poised to reclaim the WWE Championship by nailing Del Rio with a Go to Sleep, but The Mexican Aristocrat evaded the maneuver by bashing The Straight Edge Superstar with his steel pipe. Just as he did when he won his first Money in the Bank-assisted WWE Title, Del Rio pinned Punk’s shoulders to the mat for the three-count. Yet, Del Rio wouldn’t look like a champion for long.

The Cell rose following the match, allowing Cena and WWE officials to re-enter Satan’s Structure at last. Unfortunately, raising the Cell also enabled former WWE employees R-Truth and The Miz – both of whom attacked several WWE Superstars earlier in the evening after being escorted out of the New Orleans Arena – to re-emerge and charge the ring.

The Cell then mysteriously lowered to the ground once again, trapping Miz and Truth inside with Del Rio, Cena, Punk and several WWE personnel. Livid over the so-called “conspiracy” that led to their firing at the hands of WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H, the diabolical former Superstars viciously assaulted all three main event competitors as well as the helpless cameramen and referees who could not escape their fury.

Ultimately, The King of Kings led WWE Executive Vice President John Laurinaitis and a veritable army of Superstars to the ring to open the Cell and apprehend the devious duo. Truth and Miz were handcuffed and taken into police custody at the end of the night – each receiving a few painful parting shots from Triple H for good measure – but several questions still remain.

Who lowered the Cell after the match was over? Furthermore, were the conspiracy-obsessed former Superstars in cahoots with whoever was responsible? Will The Game be able to get to the bottom of this plot, or will WWE continue to spiral out of the control? Answers await in the weeks ahead on WWE Raw SuperShow, Monday nights at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

John Cena and CM Punk call out Del Rio

Cena, Punk dispute WWE.com article, Del Rio’s chances in Hell

Earlier this week, a WWE com article ordained Alberto Del Rio as the favorite for this Sunday’s first-ever Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match, citing The Mexican Aristocrat’s sheer cunning as the reason. (FULL STORY)

Del Rio’s two opponents, WWE Champion John Cena and former champion CM Punk, beg to differ.

“I think you reporters are quite ill-informed. I’m actually quite cunning, and so is CM Punk,” retorted the reigning WWE Champ.

Expanding on the Hell in a Cell comments that he made in a WWE.com exclusive video, The Second City Saint emphatically shot down the notion as well – questioning whether WWE.com has actually been watching WWE programming. “[Del Rio’s] not the most cunning of the three of us, and he sure doesn’t have the advantage,” he said.

Both Superstars were quick to point out Del Rio’s lack of experience inside Satan’s Structure, whereas each Cena and Punk have each experienced firsthand the caustic chaos that is Hell in a Cell. Then again, they also lost their first forays into Hell against Randy Orton and The Undertaker, respectively. And despite Del Rio's brutal actions this past Monday on the Raw SuperShow, Punk wouldn’t waver in his observation.

“He’s never been in the Cell,” he repeated, “and he’s not going to have his announcer, Ricardo [Rodriguez], in there with him.”

Interestingly, neither Punk nor Cena stated that either of them held the advantage over the other going into Sunday’s showdown. The only thing Cena would admit was to feeling at a disadvantage entering The Devil’s Playground as the reigning WWE Champion.

“There are a lot of positives about being a challenger, but not many positives about being the champion any time you’re in in a Triple Threat Match,” Cena observed. “The fact that this Sunday will be the first-ever Triple Threat Match inside Hell in a Cell certainly adds to the uncertainty awaiting us in the ring. The truth is, no one knows how this kind of match will play out within the restricting walls of the Cell; it eliminates any possibility of determining a favorite for Sunday night.”

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS 9/26/2011

MONDAY NIGHT RAW
9/26/2011

in KANSAS CITY, Mo. – As Satan’s Structure hung ominously over the ring, WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H struggled to keep WWE Raw SuperShow from becoming engulfed in the flames of chaos, just six days before WWE Hell in a Cell.

WWE Champion John Cena def. Christian by Disqualification; Alberto Del Rio attacked The Champ

A lot of things have happened inside the callous confines of Hell in a Cell, but the WWE Universe hasnever witnessed a Triple Threat Match waged inside The Devil’s Playground. Despite the horrors that surely await him, WWE Champion John Cena had an air of confidence about him as he addressed the WWE Universe about his collision with Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk just six days later.

Cena locked up with Christian in a non-title showdown, but it was the verbal sparring between The Mexican Aristocrat and The Second City Savior on commentary that really enthralled our fans watching the action from home.

The ringside confrontation got physical when Cena threw Christian over the announce table and into Punk. As Punk and Cena stared each other down, Del Rio assaulted The Straight Edge Superstar, then attacked Cena with an enziguri that resulted in Christian’s disqualification. Will Del Rio’s destiny be reclaimed at Hell in a Cell?

CM Punk def. Alberto Del Rio; Del Rio assaulted rivals with a steel chair

In an incredible preview of what is to come this Sunday in their Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match, CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio vented their many frustrations with one another as WWE Champion John Cena looked on from the commentary table.

The Voice of the Voiceless sealed a pinfall victory, gaining some much-needed momentum before stepping inside Satan’s Structure. After the match, the Cell itself – which had been hanging above the arena for the duration of the evening – descended upon Cena, Del Rio, Punk and The Mexican Aristocrat’s intervening ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez.

Punk and Cena pummeled Rodriguez with the Go to Sleep and the Attitude Adjustment respectively, then turned their attention on one another – unwittingly giving Del Rio an opportunity to strike. Bashing both Superstars with a steel chair, Del Rio stood triumphant in the ring, giving his Hell in a Cell competitors a taste of things to come less than a week later inside the vile structure.

Upon winning the WWE Championship declared vacant after CM Punk’s WWE contract expired while The Second City Saint was still the titleholder, Rey Mysterio defended his first WWE Championship the same night he won it: on Raw, in Green Bay, and against John Cena. 10. SEPTEMBER 18, 2011John Cena wins 10th WWE Championship at Night of Champions 2011
Cena lost the Undisputed WWE Championship Match to CM Punk at SummerSlam as a result of referee Triple H’s bad call. To make matter worse, Cena could could only watch in disbelief as Alberto Del Rio finally fulfilled his self-professed destiny by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and defeating a barely conscious CM Punk. However, at Night of Champions, there would be no controversy in Buffalo, N.Y.'s First Niagara Center - Cena decisively defeated The Mexican Aristocrat, and cemented his place in history as the first and only 10-time WWE Champion.
