John Cena was to Wrestle UnderTaker at WrestleMania 28?
John Cena was to Wrestle Undertaker at WrestleMania 28 and NOT The Rock but Vince McMahon change it the last minute READ STORY below:
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was said to be “out of his mind” during WrestleMania weekend and made a number of last-minute changes to the WrestleMania card.
The last-minute changes didn’t end at WrestleMania – sources report that there was a massive last-minute re-write of RAW as well on Monday afternoon. Early in the day on Monday, the plan was for The Undertaker and Triple H to have a rematch at SummerSlam and for The Undertaker to wrestle John Cena at WrestleMania 28. Apparently The Rock’s decision to wrestle John Cena at WrestleMania 28 was made just hours before the news was announced on RAW.
While The Rock’s decision to wrestle at WrestleMania 28 was not finalized until Monday – many in the company were under the impression that next year’s WrestleMania from Miami would be built around The Rock, even if he didn’t commit to wrestle. There has been talk of The Rock being inducted into the Hall of Fame next year – no word on whether those plans have been changed now that he’ll actually be wrestling in the main event.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS 4/4/2011
Let’s cut right to the chase. In arguably the biggest announcement in the history of WrestleMania, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson accepted a challenge from John Cena to compete at next year’s WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami, Fla.
The dream match-up began brewing weeks ago when The Great One and the Cenation Commander-in-Chief traded verbal barbs. The spoken sparing eventually escalated to physical confrontation until, finally, the animosity culminated at WrestleMania
Now, there’s no one and nothing standing between these two legendary Superstars. When the two finally consented to meet, their agreement was interrupted by The Corre, who ambushed the iconic Superstars. Big mistake. Rock and Cena punished their attackers and demonstrated why, when they meet in The Great One's hometown of Miami, the temperatures are sure to rise in the face of heated rhetoric and hot competition in a match that's guaranteed to go down as one of the most epic battles in WWE history.

WrestleMania XXVII Results: Cena VS Miz
The Miz vs. John Cena
Great promo packages for each man. Cena had this big, elaborate entrance with a live church choir singing and they were promptly booed once they were done singing. Cena is now wearing a new red shirt, thus reinforcing the Fruity Pebble stereotype. Match starts and has shockingly little heat. Part of it I think is the acoustics of a dome show, but the crowd is just not into this match. They had a great near fall where Miz accidentally hit Alex Riley with his briefcase and Cena gave Miz an awesome Attitude Adjustment, but only scored a two count. They fought to the outside and both men spilled over the barrier into the crowd where they were counted out for a draw in 14:30.
At this point, Rock came out and the GM chimed in again. Rock went to read the announcement, but trashed the laptop instead and said there’s no way WrestleMania is ending this way. He restarted the match as a no DQ, no count out affair. Cena immediately brought Miz into the ring and went for an Attitude Adjustment, but Miz slipped out and Rock snuck up from behind Cena, giving him a Rockbottom. Miz then crawled on top of Cena and scored the pinfall to retain the WWE Title (for the second time tonight). After staring down Miz a bit, Rock got into the ring and beat up Miz, giving him a spinebuster and a People’s Elbow to end the show source: sescoops
ATLANTA – In his first-ever WrestleMania main event, WWE Champion The Miz successfully defended his title against seasoned Show of Shows veteran John
One year earlier, The Miz competed in the opening match at WrestleMania XXVI, emanating from Arizona’s University of Phoenix Stadium. But in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome – in front of a record-breaking crowd of more than 71, 000 – The Awesome One clung to the coveted WWE Title in a “Miz-toric” main event.
However, The People’s Champ would not allow the most “must-see” WWE Champion in history to savor his ill-gotten victory for long, driving the People’s Elbow into the heart of The Awesome One after the bell had rung. More than seven years after his final match in WWE, The
Before The Rock’s interference in the match, Cena unleashed on The Miz, venting his many frustrations after being brutalized by The Awesome One for several weeks prior. Kicking out of The Miz’s signature Skull-Crushing Finale, Cena then leveled the crafty WWE Champion with an Attitude Adjustment, but the referee – incapacitated by an in-ring collision – was unable to count the pinfall.
Following the illegal intervention of his associate, Alex Riley, The Miz was able to kick out of a second Attitude Adjustment. When the action spilled outside the ring, both Superstars catapulted one another over the barricade and onto the floor. After making contact with the concrete, neither Superstar was able to respond to the referee’s 10-count.
After this emotionally-charged bout ended in a double count-out and a title retention, the anonymous Raw General Manager chimed in via email. Keeping his hosting duties in mind, The Rock took to the podium to read the latest decree from the master of Monday nights’ infamous laptop, but was ultimately reluctant to relinquish control of “The People’s WrestleMania” to a digital dictator. The Great One proclaimed that it “doesn’t matter” what Raw’s GM thinks, laid the smack down on the computer and ordered the match to resume. To ensure a winner, the WrestleMania Host mandated that there be no count-outs and no disqualifications.
Just moments after the match continued, The Great One nailed Cena with a Rock Bottom, allowing The Miz to crawl atop Cena’s battered form and secure the pinfall victory. Of course, The Miz’s victory celebration was short-lived, as he soon found himself on the receiving end of “the most electrifying move in sports-entertainment,” the People’s Elbow.
Cena and The Miz crossed paths with The Rock numerous times leading up to their epic encounter at the Georgia Dome, making the involvement of The Brahma Bull not only likely, but a near-certainty. After more than a month of long-distance verbal sparring, Cena and The Rock finally confronted one another in the ring, an anticipated meeting of WWE icons that was soon spoiled by the brash, young WWE Champion.
With Riley’s help, The Miz viciously attacked the WrestleMania XXVII host, who overcame the two-on-one odds and silenced The Awesome One with a People’s Elbow. Seeing an opportunity to prove to The Rock that he’s not to be trifled with, the Cenation leader went on the offensive, giving The Rock an Attitude Adjustment that set the tone for their inevitable meeting at The Showcase of the Immortals. Taking his rivalry with Cena to a whole new level at WrestleMania, The Rock cost Cena the WWE Championship in a decisive act of retribution.
With hostility still brewing between Cena and the WWE Champion, the WWE Universe surely hasn’t seen the last clash between these two incredible Superstars. As for The Rock, the electrifying host lived up to his promise: He did indeed “bring it” to WrestleMania XXVII.
