Friend Of John Cena’s Reveals His Feelings On Being Booed

With a helping hand from John Cena, 40-year-old heavyweight boxer Monte Barrett participated in a week long training camp with WWE’s developmental league Florida Championship Wrestling in late October/early November. As a close friend of Cena’s, Barrett has personal insight on the WWE Superstar. He commented on the hostile reaction Cena receives from grappling fans on a weekly basis to Power Slam.

“We talked about that on [November 14, 2011] and I asked him. A lot of the fans say, “John’s not great, and he’s only got a certain amount of moves,” Barrett says.

“The Rock [left WWE] and John took over. He just told me, “I don’t take it personally, so you don’t either. It’s a job.” Me, I was bothered because the people booed him to death [on Raw]. Rock got a standing ovation. Who knows? John might take a back seat for a while.

“People got tired of Michael Jordan always winning, the Green Bay Packers too. They want different champions, like Lennox Lewis in boxing. It’s our nature to want a changing of the guard. Maybe [Cena] needs to take a back seat, then rise up again in a year or two.”

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS 12/26/2011

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS
12/26/2011

in CHICAGO — WWE Champion CM Punk’s Second City homecoming was marred by the underhanded actions of Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis and Dolph Ziggler, while the diabolical Kane finally shed some fire on his recent attacks on John Cena.

John Cena def. The Miz by Count-out; R-Truth returned
Outraged over Kane’s recent attacks, John Cena demanded The Big Red Monster face him in the ring live in Chicago.
Instead, he got The Awesome One. Looking to end 2011 on a high note, The Miz challenged the man he beat at WrestleMania XXVII and ended up getting tossed around by a very focused Cena.
Frustrated, Miz rolled out of the squared circle and talked trash until he got counted out. But before he could escape without any more damage, he was stopped by R-Truth.
Returning after being put in the hospital by The Awesome One, Truth recklessly battered his former friend around the ringside area and then warned, “This New Year’s, acquaintances be forgot? No! They’re going to get got!”

Kane explained why he attacked John Cena
After two brutal assaults on John Cena, The Big Red Monster finally revealed why he targeted the Cenation leader. The monster’s reason? Hate.

Standing behind a wall of fire, Kane made it clear that he’s disgusted by Cena’s “Rise Above Hate” T-shirt slogan, because humans are hateful by nature. The twisted demon then said he’s going to help the powerful Superstar understand this by leading WWE fans in a chant of “Cena sucks! Cena sucks!” Some members of the WWE Universe followed Kane, others didn't, but the outcry seemed to shake the confident competitor.

Why is John Cena in Kane's crosshairs?

The WWE Universe was shocked when Kane made his return on Raw SuperShow several weeks ago. They were even more surprised when The Big Red Monster, wearing a terrifying new mask, attacked John Cena instead of Mark Henry, who was responsible for injuring Kane over the summer.

This past Monday, The Devil’s Favorite Demon once again went after the leader of the Cenation instead of The World’s Strongest Man. Cena tried to put up a fight, knocking the monster out of the ring, but Kane eventually overpowered him and tossed the former WWE Champion around ringside like a ragdoll, leaving him in a heap on the announcers’ table.

The Big Red Monster’s vicious actions left everyone wondering one thing: why is Kane going after John Cena instead of Mark Henry?

Kane’s motives could be simple. The former World Heavyweight Champion has been out of action since July after Henry inducted him into his Hall of Pain. The Big Red Monster could want to make his case as a top contender to the WWE Championship. What better way to get noticed than taking out a 10-time WWE Champion?

It could also be a case of opposites attracting. Kane is a tormented monster. He bares mental scars from his tortured upbringing after a fire, allegedly started by his half-brother The Undertaker, burned down the home he was raised in. He has been unleashing a lifetime of pent-up rage on the WWE for more than a decade, picking up WWE and World Heavyweight Championships in the wake of his destruction. There is no Superstar with a blacker heart than The Devil’s Favorite Demon.

On the other hand, John Cena has been battling portions of the WWE Universe that boo him relentlessly. They chant “Cena sucks!” from the moment he enters the ring to the moment he steps back through the curtain. His WrestleMania XXVIII opponent, The Rock, is cheered unabashedly, even though he shows up once in a blue moon.

Yet Cena lets the jeers go in one ear and out the other. He says it’s the WWE Universe’s right to cheer and boo whoever they please. Night in and night out, the leader of the Cenation refuses to give into the hate, approaching every match with a smile and a salute. Cena’s easy-going approach to his detractors has to eat away at The Big Red Monster. After all, Kane has shown how easy it is to let the torment consume him.

Will we find out Kane’s true motivations? It’s hard to say, as he has yet to speak since his return. If the past few weeks are any indication, John Cena will have to keep his head on a swivel this Monday on Raw SuperShow, because there will almost certainly be a monster lurking, waiting for a chance to attack.

John Cena on The Fruity Pebbles Cereal Box.

After months of being called a Fruity Pebble by his WrestleMania 28 opponent, John Cena can no longer deny The Rock’s claims.

In a cross-promotion between WWE and the Post Cereal company, John Cena is now featured on the box of Fruity Pebbles cereal. Fans who buy the Fruity Pebbles box featuring John Cena will get a chance to win tickets to a live WWE event, exclusive John Cena merchandise and a chance to meet John Cena himself.

-A fan asked Cena on Twitter this weekend if it was ironic that he was featured on the Fruity Pebbles box and he replied:
“Ironic? No. Turning a negative into a positive ..yes. rise above hate. By the way…I love fruity pebbles.”

WWE sells Anti-John Cena Shirts!

WWE began selling their first anti-John Cena shirt at this weekend’s live events. Late Saturday nigh On Sunday!
You can also purchase this Anti- Cena shirt on WWEShop.com

Front and Back of the Anti- Cena shirt!

- A lot of people (mostly Cenation) aren't happy with this but WWE is selling them so I would think John Cena would get some profitout of this in some way. Don't know for sure!

*Cena has been responding to tweets about the new merchandise and revealed that WWE has wanted to capitalize on Cena haters for many years now:

“They have wanted too since 2008. I told them no. Finally I just said I dont care. Im fine with the way things are. Some like me. Some don’t.”

A fan asked Cena if WWE was disrespecting him by profiting off people taunting him. Cena said:

“Agreed. But WTF. Ignore it no longer. Its out there so those that wanna be like that should be able to voice their opinion. Like I said doesn’t change me one bit. Stay true..always have.. always will”

Another fan asked Cena when WWE was going to release anti-Rock shirts. Cena says there’s a double standard and we’ll never see merchandise disrespecting his WrestleMania 28 opponent:

“I can tell u right now….that would never happen”

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS
12/19/2011
in Philadelphia

Kane attacked John Cena:
Hell has come back. One week after he shocked the WWE Universe by assaulting John Cena, Kane stomped into Philadelphia and did it all over again.

Hitting the ring to admit that he’s willing to fight if that’s what The Big Red Monster wants, Cena was surprised when Mark Henry appeared instead of Kane.

The World’s Strongest Man and the former WWE Champion were ready to come to blows when the deafening pyro of The Devil’s Favorite Demon exploded.

The masked monster ignored Henry and went right for the Cenation leader, but Cena was ready and clotheslined him over the ropes.

Still, the fiery giant fought back, dragging his target from the squared circle before throwing him around the ringside area and tearing off his “Rise Above Hate” shirt in a frightening display of rage.

The story behind John Cena's salute

The story behind John Cena's salute

Every night before he enters the ring, John Cena, clad in camouflage shorts, stands at attention and salutes as though a commanding officer were standing in front of him barking orders. Most think that Cena is simply acknowledging his devoted fans, which the leader of the Cenation will not deny.

“It’s a salute of loyalty to those that stand by me, that have been doing it for years,” Cena explained to WWE.com.

However, for the 10-time WWE Champion, there is also a much deeper meaning behind his gestures.

“Every night when I do that salute, it’s also a sign of respect to the men and women that don the uniform of the Armed Forces,” he declared.

John Cena holds the Armed Forces in the highest esteem and has implemented many aspects of the military way into his attitude. It goes beyond camo shorts and a salute.

“When it came my time to slowly redefine who I was from wrestler to hip hop thug, to the next step in my career, I basically took the ideologies of discipline from the Armed Forces,” Cena said. “I took honor, code and country and came up with hustle, loyalty and respect. I think exactly like they do.”

The leader of the Cenation also has one very personal ritual related to the Armed Forces. Those who pay close attention to Cena right before a match begins will see him remove a pair of dog tags from around his neck and kiss them before handing them to the referee or ringside attendant for safe keeping. But the Superstar prefers to keep the meaning behind the tags to himself.

“That’s secret information that I’ve told a few Make-A-Wish families and those people who need to know. [WWE.com] doesn’t need to know,” Cena lightheartedly explained.

As evidenced by his passionate speech at Fort Bragg during Tribute to the Troops, John Cena is extremely reverent toward the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and will continue to do whatever he can to honor their ultimate sacrifice.

The Rock won the Slammy Award for Game Changer of the Year
Hobbling to the podium on crutches, an ailing Christian ranted about deserving an award for courageousness before presenting the Game Changer of the Year Slammy to The Rock. The Great One was not on hand to accept the trophy, but his WrestleMania opponent did the honors for him. After criticizing The People’s Champion for not showing up, John Cena said The Rock may have changed the game tonight, but this April in Miami the Cenation leader will change the game forever.

John Cena vs. World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry ended in a No Contest; masked Kane returned

The Cenation leader had a week to prepare for this showdown with The World’s Strongest Man, but there was one Superstar John Cena was not ready to deal with on Raw
— Kane. Entering through hellfire and brimstone, The Big Red Monster made a shocking return under a mask and attacked Cena, driving him into the mat with a devastating chokeslam.

The demon’s motives were unclear, but one thing was sure — hell has come home.

Former WWE superstar Batista mentions John Cena

Former WWE superstar Batista appeared on The Chad Dukes Wrestling Show this week and said John Cenakilled “hardcore, edgy” pro wrestling:

“I think, you know, they did the whole PG direction thing, I think that works for Cena; the little kids love him, cause he’s a great character, he’s someone they can look up to. The girls love him, good looking guy, says all the right things, does all the right things, but the hardcore fans can’t stand him. He is Mr. Hokey, Mr. PG… to me; he killed hardcore, edgy wrestling.”

Batista also commented on his feud with John Cena towards the end of his WWE run. Batista said he was the one booked as the heel, but he had to work extra hard to get booed, because some fans hate John Cena so much:

“I was playing the part of the heel, but they were still booing the hell out of Cena. I really had to go that extra step to be a heel against this guy.

Superstars recall Ribera Steakhouse, bring back Zubaz

Superstars recall Ribera Steakhouse, bring back Zubaz:

On the WWE’s recent tour of Japan, several Superstars took part in a very special sports-entertainment tradition. They have the jacket and full stomachs to prove it.

The Ribera Steakhouse is a landmark in the Land of the Rising Sun. For years, Superstars have made pilgrimages to this small steakhouse in Tokyo, where their predecessors have wined and dined.

Photographs of those who have passed through for a meal line the tiny restaurant from floor to ceiling. Superstars sit down for a king-sized helping of steak, rice and corn. When they’re finished, they become members of an exclusive group when the restaurant’s proprietors present them with a satin coat emblazoned with its bull’s head logo.

For some, like WWE Champion CM Punk, it’s a chance to follow in the footsteps of their heroes. “I always remember looking at early wrestling magazines when I was a wee little Punker and seeing guys in these Ribera Steakhouse jackets and it became this elite group,” he told WWE.com.

“If you knew a guy that had a Ribera coat, that meant he did a tour of Japan. It’s a coveted thing.”

While satin jackets are no longer trendy or part of mainstream fashion, having been relegated to the retro lines of athletic clothing companies, Ribera’s garments are a badge of honor in the world of sports-entertainment.

“It’s a milestone,” said Divas Champion Beth Phoenix, who received hers during her first trip to Japan in 2009. “I’ve worn it several times. It’s not the most Diva-esque of jackets, but it is something you wear with pride. If you are in this business, you know exactly what that means.”

The Glamazon’s photo also got unique placement at the establishment. “I [was] smiling like a cheeseball and they placed my picture [on the awning outside the restaurant]. So, when you drive up, there’s Goldberg and Beth Phoenix side-by-side.”

Getting a Ribera Steakhouse coat may have also driven a wedge between Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. Long Island Iced-Z tweeted a picture of his new black and hot pink jacket, setting The Party Starter off.

“I just find it silly that he’s bragging about it when he doesn’t even know what it is or the significance of it,” Hawkins said. “I’ve known Zack longer than anyone in this company and he’s not a fan of Japanese wrestling. He never watched it before in his life, so I find that tweet he put out with [the jacket] very ironic.”

Even more upsetting to Hawkins was another fashion staple of sports-entertainment’s past that was presented to several Superstars in addition to the jackets: Zubaz pants.

“They brought us steak and then they brought us Zubaz. It was awesome,” Punk said.

The brightly colored, baggy zebra print pants were made famous, in part, by WWE Hall of Famers The Road Warriors in the early 1990s and became an essential part of a Superstar’s wardrobe, along with, yes, fanny packs.

Today’s Superstars mostly joked about the loud pants, thinking they would remain a relic of the past. Then, they put them on.

“They’re really, really comfortable,” The Straight Edge Superstar admitted.

Hawkins agrees. Though he didn’t get them from Ribera, The Party Starter bought a pair of Zubaz and wore a fanny pack as part of his Halloween costume. “Zubaz pants are so comfortable, the fanny pack is so convenient, all your stuff is right there,” he explained. “I get what [former Superstars] were thinking at the time. Convenience and comfort.”

During the last show of the tour, John Cena may have officially signaled the return of Zubaz to sports-entertainment. Wearing his Ribera Steakhouse jacket to the ring, the leader of the Cenation did battle in a pair of red and white Zubaz.

“The tour was exhausting, I wanted to do it to pick up morale and give everyone something to talk about,” Cena said.

For Punk, it may become a part of his regular attire. “Zubaz, fanny packs, Ribera jacket, maybe sunglasses indoors, high tops untied. It’s an homage to my elders,” added the WWE Champion

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS 12/5/2011

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS
12/5/2011
in TAMPA, Fla. — Dubbing himself "Mr. Excitement," Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis sent John Cena, The Miz, Alberto Del Rio and United States Champion Dolph Ziggler into action to decide who would face WWE Champion CM Punk at WWE TLC in two weeks.

John Cena, U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio and The Miz argued over who deserves to face WWE Champion CM Punk
Everyone wants to hold the WWE Title, but which Superstar deserves to face WWE Champion CM Punk? That’s what Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis had to decide when he broke up the bickering of John Cena, United States Champion Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio and The Miz.

Proving that he’s not as dull as The Straight Edge Superstar says he is, the executive came up with this decision — Miz, Ziggler and Del Rio would compete against SmackDown Superstars tonight and if they win, they will be entered in the WWE Championship Match at WWE TLC in two weeks. Cena, on the other hand, would undergo a “social experiment” that the GM had dreamt up.

John Cena def. Zack Ryder
Although they’re good friends outside of the ring, John Cena and Zack Ryder were forced to battle tonight as a part of a “social experiment” concocted by John Laurinaitis. If Ryder won this bout, he would earn a future United States Title opportunity. If Cena was victorious, he would compete for the WWE Title at WWE TLC.
With stakes high, both Superstars battled with everything they had, but it was the Cenation leader who grabbed the victory. Still, even with the win, the powerful competitor didn’t look happy as he exited.

Zack Ryder def. World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry in a Title-free Match
After John Cena agreed to forfeit his WWE Championship opportunity at WWE TLC if Zack Ryder was given a second chance, John Laurinaitis scheduled this bout with obvious intentions to see Long Island Iced-Z crushed.
But what seemed like an insurmountable obstacle for The “Woo Woo Woo Kid” soon turned to triumph as the Cenation leader blasted Mark Henry with an Attitude Adjustment in this no count-out, no disqualification match to help Ryder score the win. The spray-tanned Superstar now has a future United States Title Match against Dolph Ziggler.
