John Cena on ESPN
.. NEGATIVE NEWS CIRCULATING ABOUT JOHN CENA ..
The interview caught the attention of an anonymous wrestler who attended the meeting. He said there were actually five wrestlers who came over to McMahon following the meeting to say they were the right man for the job.
“The only difference is that Cena did his ’stepping over guys’ in the locker room more than the ring,” said the wrestler.
The anonymous wrestler feels McMahon was looking for a “backstabbing asshole/stooge” to serve as his top WWE Superstar.
“It has zero to do with in-ring talent,” the wrestler said. “Cena stepped on guys like the Spirit Squad and others who were only there for less than six months.”

CENA COMMENTS ABOUT UFC AND HIS MOVIE LEGENDARY
WWE RAW star John Cena was interviewed this week by The Boston Globe and said despite its growing popularity, he’s not a fan of UFC and mixed martial arts. “It’s just not something that particularly interests me,’’ Cena said. “UFC is where boxing was years ago, and I was never really into boxing, either.’’
Cena says he prefers pro wrestling because it’s “regulated entertainment that’s safe for anyone to enjoy.’’
As for UFC … “It is what it is. It can be pretty over the top, and it’s not something I’d want my children to watch.’’
Cena also spoke about his new movie “Legendary,” co-starring Patricia Clarkson and Danny Glover. Cena has played action hero tough-guy roles in “The Marine” and “12 Rounds,” but plays a sensitive character in Legendary. “I’m used to dodging bullets and explosions. And this is more of a dramatic piece.’’
Despite making a few movies already, Cena admits he’s still “fairly inexperienced when it comes to cinematic acting’’ but hopes to continue his acting career.”

WHAT HAPPENED AFTER RAW WENT OFF AIR
... Following tonight’s edition of WWE Raw from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, Sheamus defeated The Undertaker and John Cena to retain the WWE Championship in a steel cage match in the dark match main event. Undertaker used the Hell’s Gate submission hold on Cena.
After the match, Kane ran out followed by The Nexus. Kane and The Undertaker fought while The Nexus attacked Cena. MVP, Mark Henry, John Morrison, Evan Bourne and Matt Hardy (who was selling a limp) made the save.
After the other four members of The Nexus were taken out, everyone hit their finishers on Wade Barrett to end the taping and send the crowd home happy...

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS AUG 30
The Nexus def. WWE Champion Sheamus, John Cena, Edge, Chris Jericho & Randy Orton in a 5-on-5 Tag Team Elimination Match
Timing really is everything. At the conclusion of the night’s main event, The Nexus’ leader Wade Barrett proved that as he stood as proud and tall as London’s Big Ben.
Earlier in the evening, the Englishman was in the right place at the right time as he punished The Undertaker with a devastating slam to the canvas. At night’s end, he – along with his Nexus cohorts – emerged victorious in a 5-on-5 Tag Team Elimination Match against WWE Champion Sheamus, John Cena, Edge, Chris Jericho & Randy Orton.
Almost immediately, Jericho and Edge ditched their team. At a distinct disadvantage, The Celtic Warrior finally relented and was pinned by Heath Slater. Next up, Cena found himself in trouble against the overwhelming odds and eventually succumbed to the 450° Splash of Justin Gabriel.
Barrett’s fortuitous evening concluded, though, when Orton faced a 3-on-1 scenario. Although Orton has proven a staunch and worthy adversary of The Nexus and managed to eliminate Gabriel and Michael Tarver, he nonetheless was unable to overcome Barrett’s offense in a gutting defeat.
Owing to their mutual distrust of one another, the team of former world champions appeared to implode from lack of teamwork. Not surprising, perhaps, given the fact that they will be competing for the WWE Title at Night of Champions in three weeks. In the opening salvo for the coveted title, however, it appears Barrett has fired off one jolly good shot.

Vince McMahon Praises John Cena
The article also includes the following Vince McMahon quotes about Cena:
"You have to start with the quality of the human being. John is an extraordinary human being; he's honest, he's loyal. He's full of himself, too. But he's like a throwback to the type of individual it's difficult find these days, someone with old-fashioned values. In addition to that, he's a Neanderthal when it comes to strength."
"No matter how good you are as a human being, you need talent. You could tell that John had talent - very raw talent, mind you."
According to the article, Vince held a meeting with WWE talent years ago, saying he was looking for someone who was ready to reach for the brass ring.
"Step on people on the way over if you have to. Apologize later. I'm looking for someone with courage that wants to break out and be ballsy enough to take on the responsibility of being the top guy."
"At the end of the meeting, someone came over and said, 'I'm your man,' and that was John."
Note from Ryan Clark: That's some very high praise from the man himself. It's not often you see that so it just goes to show you how much Vince McMahon likes John Cena these days. He's been called the 'poster child of WWE and 'Vince McMahon's guy' by sources in the past
