With WWE’s creative team working on storyline plans for early 2011, one top feud that’s being discussed is Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett.
Barrett and Sheamus are two of the real success stories of WWE’s recent youth movement and the two men squaring off presents a fresh match-up that many are excited to see.
Barrett is said to be “super over” with WWE management and the Nexus leader has been pushed as the RAW brand’s top heel, a spot that was held by Sheamus earlier this year. Barrett has followed in the foot steps of Sheamus, getting over and generating a ton of heat after top programs with John Cena and Randy Orton.
As we reported here earlier in the week, there are plans for Barrett to continue feuding with John Cena until the end of the year and then move on to a WrestleMania feud with The Undertaker, providing the Dead Man is healthy
Internally, Barrett and Sheamus are now considered worthy challengers of Randy Orton and John Cena, an accomplishment WWE is quite pleased with.

Preliminary creative plans for 2011 include John Cena facing Wade Barrett at the Royal Rumble as well as Barrett facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVII.
Based on WWE’s reported plans, it would suggest Barrett wins the WWE Championship at Survivor Series and subsequently loses the belt to Cena at the Royal Rumble, likely setting up Cena vs. Orton for the strap at WrestleMania XXVII.
Undertaker, however, is in desperate need of shoulder surgery, and there is much concern internally that if he gets it, he won’t be healthy in time for WrestleMania XXVII.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS

Apparently, The Viper thinks he just might. He confronted Cena, who told him that, while titles come and go, his very way of life hangs in the balance and that he’s not entirely sure what he may do at Survivor Series in three weeks. Upon hearing Cena’s uncertainty, Barrett interrupted the pow-wow. Before the situation could erupt, Raw’s anonymous GM intervened, via Michael Cole, to arrange the night’s main event: A tag team match pitting Barrett and a partner of his choosing against Orton and a partner of his choosing with Cena acting as special guest referee.
The Match:
WWE Champion Randy Orton & R-Truth def. Wade Barrett & David Otunga
Despite finding himself firmly under Barrett’s thumb, Cena refused to favor The Nexus once the bout commenced. Although, at one point, he appeared to lean toward his Nexus cohorts, Cena restrained himself and oversaw the bout as objectively as possible. The outcome, however, would leave his English overlord cold: R-Truth managed to topple Otunga and pin his shoulders for the win. The loss triggered a tirade from the Englishman directed squarely at Cena.

The focus will be on WWE champion Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett with John Cena in the mix as special referee for the PPV main event.
WWE has not announced matches ahead of time for tonight's Raw. Advertised locally for the live crowd is a four-way WWE Title match with Orton vs. Cena vs. Barrett vs. Sheamus.
John Cena defeated via DQ in a World Hvt. Championship match. John Cena got a very hot reaction from the crowd, mostly positive. If you would've told me that this was going to be the best match of the night with guys like Daniel Bryan, The Miz and Alberto Del Rio on the card, I would've told you to cue Vince McMahon's theme song. This was a very good match with lots of false finishes, kicking out of finishers and a great all-around match.
Unfortunately, you knew how it was going to end up, especially since John Cena had ripped off the Nexus armband about halfway through the match. Cena slapped on his second STF and the Nexus ran down for the save. Orton ran down to the ring and joined the fight for Cena against Nexus. The heel part of the roster ran down to pretty much pummel Cena and Orton. The faces then saved the day and it was a finisher bonanza on Sheamus and the Nexus to close out the show and let everyone leave happy.
