WWE: Is Dolph Ziggler jealous of John Cena?

WWE: Is Dolph Ziggler jealous of John Cena?

Dolph Ziggler is a Superstar who seemingly has it all: stunning looks, superior athletic talent and the ability to steal the show every single time he steps between the ropes. Oh yeah, and he's Mr. Money in the Bank, too.

What he doesn't have is the WWE Championship résumé and worldwide recognition of John Cena.

On the surface, Ziggler's intense grudge against the Cenation leader has come as quite the surprise. For months it looked like The Showoff's only intent was to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and seize the World Heavyweight Title. He even guaranteed he would do it heading into WWE Hell in a Cell. But as viewers tuned in to the pay-per-view's Pre-Show on Oct. 28, it appeared that Ziggler's objective had changed. Still holding the Money in the Bank briefcase, his fixation had shifted from championship gold to 10-time WWE Champion John Cena and the allegations that Cena had an inappropriate relationship with former Raw General Manager AJ Lee.

Is Dolph merely looking to stay on Vickie Guerrero's good side as she cements her position as the Managing Supervisor of Raw? Or is there something more to this sudden bitterness toward the Cenation leader?

Here's what we also know about Ziggler: He likes being the center of attention at all times. He firmly believes he deserves the fame, fortune and fawning that comes with being the most popular Superstar in WWE. And he's sick and tired of watching Cena be that guy when, in Dolph's eyes, he's just a liar.

"All he does is deny the same things over and over that we can clearly see," Ziggler claimed on "Backstage Fallout" when asked why he's getting into Cena's business. "It's been years of the same Cena story. I'm sick of it. The WWE Universe is sick of it. Someone had to do something about it."

Ziggler would never admit he's even the slightest bit envious of Cena's success in WWE over the years, nor his accomplishments as a Hollywood actor and musician. But is it a stretch to think he craves the national spotlight Cena persistently commands? Should we be convinced that Ziggler is targeting The Cenation Commander-in-Chief, as Dolph states, simply because he wants to expose the truth and serve his duty as "the only real man in this business"?

On the Oct. 22 edition of Raw, Ziggler said Cena is the only person to blame in the scandal that led to AJ's resignation as Raw General Manager and that he thought AJ "would have better taste" — two direct shots that exhibit precisely how much disdain Dolph has for the Cenation leader. Is Ziggler offended that AJ would potentially be interested in someone like Cena instead of him? Perhaps he's afraid of the notion that there could be a fresh front-page couple in WWE while The Showoff and Queen Diva duo is now old news?

Whether or not jealousy is Dolph's primary motive for going after Cena, there is one goal that is apparent as ever before: Ziggler is still trying to steal the show — and Cena is standing in his way.

John Cena Teaming up with The Kids Wish Network

John Cena Teaming up with The Kids Wish Network

JONESBORO, Ga. – International children’s charity Kids Wish Network announced today that through the generosity of the WWE and other sponsors, Maurice Wilson’s dream of meeting his favorite WWE Superstar, John Cena, has come true. Kids Wish Network is a Tampa-based charitable organization dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children having experienced life-altering situations.

“Generous Guardian Angel organizations such as the WWE help us make a wonderful difference in the lives of many children every year,” said Anna Lanzatella, Executive Director of Kids Wish Network. “Kids Wish Network relies on stars like John Cena to help us make dreams become realities for children facing life threatening illnesses every day.”

Eight-year-old Maurice suffers from a condition called hydrocephalus, which is a buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the skull. He underwent a surgery to implant a shunt at four months old. At the age of three, he suffered a seizure after hitting his head and was rushed into surgery. Maurice was then diagnosed with epilepsy and put on a regimen of daily anti-seizure medications.

When given the opportunity to have a wish granted through Kids Wish Network, Maurice asked to meet his hero, WWE Superstar John Cena. Kids Wish Network arranged for an all expenses paid trip to Atlanta for Maurice and his parents that included accommodations, attractions and meals, as well as the meet-and-greet with John Cena before a WWE event at the Phillips Arena.

“It was fabulous,” said Maurice’s mother, Yakymia Wilson. “It was a dream-come-true for Maurice. This is definitely something we never could have given him and we didn’t expect anything as wonderful as this. Everyone everywhere knew who Maurice was and he was really surprised. Everyone gave us the VIP treatment.”

On the day of his wish, Maurice and his family were picked up by an H2 Hummer limousine and driven in style to the Phillips Arena. They were escorted backstage and Maurice’s eyes lit up when John Cena walked in the room. Cena headed right over to Maurice, shook his hand and the two started talking about wrestling and their shared interest in classic cars. Maurice presented Cena with a t-shirt and a pin for hydrocephalus awareness, while Cena gave Maurice signed posters and pictures along with t-shirts, hats and armbands to match his own. Afterwards, Maurice and his family were seated in the second row for the WWE event and they had a great time watching the action up close.

“I was holding back tears the whole wish,” said Yakymia. “I really appreciate all that you did for my son. Maurice hasn’t stopped talking about it and he’s still wearing one of the hats John Cena gave him. Thank you so much.”

Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following for making Maurice’s all expenses paid trip and wish so spectacular: the WWE, John Cena, Ritz Carlton Hotel, Avalon Limousine Service, Georgia Aquarium, Center for Puppetry Arts, Legoland Discovery Center – Atlanta, Brio Tuscan Restaurant, and Johnny Rockets Diner.

WWE: John Cena's 300th wish kid offers a challenge to the WWE Universe

WWE: John Cena's 300th wish kid offers a challenge to the WWE Universe

Jonny Littman is the perfect example of the life-changing power of a wish. The soon-to-be-8-year-old, who was the 300th Make-A-Wish kid John Cena historically granted an individual wish to, has thrived since meeting his hero.

“All he does is talk about John and all the Superstars and everyone at WWE,” Jonny’s mom Ruth Littman said. “He has such a zest for life. He always, has but this has been incredible.”

Jonny’s self-esteem has skyrocketed, and even more importantly, his health has improved. Instead of overnight hospital visits, Jonny has had his first outpatient procedures, allowing him to go home the same day.

“Because it was on a Monday, and what’s Monday? Raw! And they don’t have USA Network at the hospital,” Ruth told WWE.com. “He came out of if it and was like, ‘OK, I am ready to go home!’ ”

“He doesn’t think about when he has to go to a doctor’s appointment if he’s going to get stuck staying in the hospital anymore. He is like, ‘OK, hurry up, let’s get this over with. I’m doing great!’ ”

Jonny first met Cena in June, before Raw in Long Island, N.Y. Then, a few days later, Cena surprised the WWE Circle of Champions honoree live on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” where he presented the youngster with tickets to WWE’s historic 1,000th episode of Raw. It was at the 1,000th episode of Raw where Jonny, who was by then a “pro” at wishes, imparted his wisdom on some of the children meeting Cena that July day.

“When we were at Raw, he had the opportunity to watch two other wish kids get their wishes granted by John and some of the other Superstars,” Ruth explained. “I guess because he wasn’t nervous anymore and he had been through it, he was trying to reassure the other kids. It was so cute.”

Jonny turns 8 on Nov. 19. What’s he doing to celebrate? Going to another WWE Live Event to cheer on his favorite Superstars next month, of course!

“We’re going to a show in Wilkes-Barre [Pa.], near our home, on Dec. 15,” Ruth said. “He’s so excited. I told him that’s his birthday present and he gets to bring his niece and his sister, too.”

But the icing on Jonny’s birthday cake would be if the WWE Universe watched his YouTube message about Make-A-Wish. (WATCH) He challenges each member of the WWE Universe to donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, a charity WWE strongly supported for more than 30 years. Ruth explained that Jonny just wants more kids’ dreams to come true so their lives could change for the better like his has. (DONATE AT WISH.ORG)

“Jonny told me, ‘Maybe we can ask all the fans if they would donate $1. That would be a lot of money! How many wishes?’ ” Ruth said. “I said, ‘Honey, that would be a heck of a lot of wishes!’ "

WWE: Are John Cena and AJ busted?: Vickie exposes private meeting

WWE: Are John Cena and AJ busted?: Vickie exposes private meeting

John Cena … and AJ Lee? The notion hit like a tabloid cover story: seemingly spurious, certainly dubious, still also very intriguing — like something so outlandish that we want to believe it’s true.

But hold it right there. Before you affix a scarlet letter to tees of John Cena and AJ Lee, consider the source of rumors indicating their supposed “inappropriate relationship.”

On Raw, Managing Supervisor–turned sleuth Vickie Guerrero presented some arguably open-ended evidence. Guerrero referred to footage from previous Monday nights of a burger date made in jest and, of course, *the hug* from last week but her strongest contention came once she disclosed a photo of Cena and AJ seated at table in a low-lit restaurant. The follow-up was the best, however, as Vickie revealed footage from a hotel as the former WWE Champion warmly welcomed the spunky Diva into an elevator heading up to the guest suites.

As the newly empowered Guerrero uncovered on Raw, a nighttime business meeting bears the appearance of something that’s a bit more than what Cena and the former Raw General Manager wish to admit.

According to Cena, the scenes manipulated by Vickie were that of a business meeting and a harmless walk to AJ’s hotel room door — nothing more. Understandable was the Cenation leader’s perceivable discomfort and aggravation with the topic while confronted in the middle of the ring, live on Raw. But AJ’s continued strange behavior and backstage response haven’t helped matters. Now rehired as a competing WWE Diva, AJ appears to be struggling more with something she’s holding in.

Is there merit in Vickie’s allegations after all? Or has the manipulative Managing Supervisor with a history of underhandedness concocted the perfect scheme to ruin the lives of two WWE fan favorites?

Whatever you think or do, just don’t say “John Cena” and “AJ” in the same statement — or Tout or tweet — in front of the 12-time World Champion. Dolph Ziggler, be warned.

VIDEO: WWE Universe raises $1 million for Susan G. Komen for the Cure

WWE Universe raises $1 million for Susan G. Komen for the Cure

WATCH VIDEO BELOW:

Led by WWE Superstar John Cena, the WWE Universe has raised $1 million for Susan G. Komen for the Cure during its monthlong campaign to help cure breast cancer.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cena wore co-branded, pink and black ring gear that fans were able to purchase throughout October to support Susan G. Komen, the world’s largest nonprofit funder of breast cancer research and community outreach programs. One hundred percent of WWE’s profits from the Cena merchandise was donated to Susan G. Komen.

On tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Cena presented a check on behalf of the WWE Universe for $1 million to Eric Brinker, son of Susan G. Komen Founder/CEO Nancy G. Brinker, and Dorothy Jones, Vice President of Marketing for Susan G. Komen. More than 100 breast cancer survivors, co-survivors and representatives were in attendance to help bring awareness to the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second-leading cause of cancer-related death among women in the United States.

“I want to personally thank the WWE Universe for their overwhelming support of Susan G. Komen’s fight against breast cancer,” Cena said. “I’m truly honored to lead WWE's charge to rise above cancer and help find a cure.”

“Women everywhere will benefit from this extraordinary partnership, which has helped to reach millions of people, while raising funds for Komen's cutting-edge global research program,” said Dorothy Jones, Vice President of Marketing for Susan G. Komen. “We are so grateful for WWE, and especially to John Cena and the WWE Superstars and Divas, for their enthusiastic support and friendship.”

WWE also utilized all of its assets, including TV and pay-per-view broadcasts, Live Events, PSAs and in-arena, digital and social media to generate awareness and encourage fans to get involved. Throughout the month, the announcer table, entrance ramp and ring skirts were co-branded, and the middle ring rope was turned pink to promote the fight against breast cancer. WWE generated an astounding 500 million impressions for Susan G. Komen, including more than 300 million impressions during TV broadcasts in the U.S. and 200 million global digital impressions.

Approximately five million women — more female viewers than the top rated shows on women’s networks — watch WWE’s weekly programming.

While breast cancer awareness month is coming to an end, unfortunately the disease is still affecting millions of people across the world. WWE will continue its ongoing commitment to Susan G. Komen with additional plans for the partnership being made around Mother’s Day and beyond. For more information about Susan G. Komen for the Cure, breast health or breast cancer, visit komen.org/wwe or call 1-877 GO KOMEN.

Raw Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero called out John Cena

Did John Cena and AJ Lee really get involved in an “inappropriate relationship” during AJ’s reign as Raw’s General Manager? That was Raw Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero’s allegation when she called the former WWE Champion into the ring on Raw.

Cena may have dismissed the allegation with his signature jocularity, but Vickie upped the ante by revealing photos of the Raw Superstar and AJ enjoying a candlelight dinner along with security footage of the duo riding a hotel elevator up to the same floor. A stunned Cena continued to deny the accusations, but Vickie refused to be deterred as she suggested that the twosome broke WWE’s rulebook.

When Dolph Ziggler hit the squared circle to back his associate’s claims, Cena shoved the Money in the Bank winner to the canvas and told him to mind his tongue before retreating to the locker room.
