FORT BRAGG, N.C. – WWE’s Most Patriotic Show of the Year, Tribute to the Troops featured action-packed competition, celebrity appearances and top-notch musical performances in honor of America’s bravest men and women. Emanating from the home of the Army’s Airborne Forces and the Army Special Forces, the ninth annual Tribute to the Troops was an unforgettable experience.

Champions and WWE’s biggest titans faced off in a main event truly worthy of Fort Bragg.

Teamwork reigned supreme as WWE Champions CM Punk and Big Show cleared The Miz and Del Rio from the ring and The World’s Largest Athlete punched World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry right into an Attitude Adjustment from John Cena for the pinfall.

The Rock won the Slammy Award for Game Changer of the Year
Hobbling to the podium on crutches, an ailing Christian ranted about deserving an award for courageousness before presenting the Game Changer of the Year Slammy to The Rock. The Great One was not on hand to accept the trophy, but his WrestleMania opponent did the honors for him. After criticizing The People’s Champion for not showing up, John Cena said The Rock may have changed the game tonight, but this April in Miami the Cenation leader will change the game forever.

John Cena vs. World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry ended in a No Contest; masked Kane returned

The Cenation leader had a week to prepare for this showdown with The World’s Strongest Man, but there was one Superstar John Cena was not ready to deal with on Raw
— Kane. Entering through hellfire and brimstone, The Big Red Monster made a shocking return under a mask and attacked Cena, driving him into the mat with a devastating chokeslam.

The demon’s motives were unclear, but one thing was sure — hell has come home.

Former WWE superstar Batista mentions John Cena

Former WWE superstar Batista appeared on The Chad Dukes Wrestling Show this week and said John Cenakilled “hardcore, edgy” pro wrestling:

“I think, you know, they did the whole PG direction thing, I think that works for Cena; the little kids love him, cause he’s a great character, he’s someone they can look up to. The girls love him, good looking guy, says all the right things, does all the right things, but the hardcore fans can’t stand him. He is Mr. Hokey, Mr. PG… to me; he killed hardcore, edgy wrestling.”

Batista also commented on his feud with John Cena towards the end of his WWE run. Batista said he was the one booked as the heel, but he had to work extra hard to get booed, because some fans hate John Cena so much:

“I was playing the part of the heel, but they were still booing the hell out of Cena. I really had to go that extra step to be a heel against this guy.

Superstars recall Ribera Steakhouse, bring back Zubaz

Superstars recall Ribera Steakhouse, bring back Zubaz:

On the WWE’s recent tour of Japan, several Superstars took part in a very special sports-entertainment tradition. They have the jacket and full stomachs to prove it.

The Ribera Steakhouse is a landmark in the Land of the Rising Sun. For years, Superstars have made pilgrimages to this small steakhouse in Tokyo, where their predecessors have wined and dined.

Photographs of those who have passed through for a meal line the tiny restaurant from floor to ceiling. Superstars sit down for a king-sized helping of steak, rice and corn. When they’re finished, they become members of an exclusive group when the restaurant’s proprietors present them with a satin coat emblazoned with its bull’s head logo.

For some, like WWE Champion CM Punk, it’s a chance to follow in the footsteps of their heroes. “I always remember looking at early wrestling magazines when I was a wee little Punker and seeing guys in these Ribera Steakhouse jackets and it became this elite group,” he told WWE.com.

“If you knew a guy that had a Ribera coat, that meant he did a tour of Japan. It’s a coveted thing.”

While satin jackets are no longer trendy or part of mainstream fashion, having been relegated to the retro lines of athletic clothing companies, Ribera’s garments are a badge of honor in the world of sports-entertainment.

“It’s a milestone,” said Divas Champion Beth Phoenix, who received hers during her first trip to Japan in 2009. “I’ve worn it several times. It’s not the most Diva-esque of jackets, but it is something you wear with pride. If you are in this business, you know exactly what that means.”

The Glamazon’s photo also got unique placement at the establishment. “I [was] smiling like a cheeseball and they placed my picture [on the awning outside the restaurant]. So, when you drive up, there’s Goldberg and Beth Phoenix side-by-side.”

Getting a Ribera Steakhouse coat may have also driven a wedge between Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. Long Island Iced-Z tweeted a picture of his new black and hot pink jacket, setting The Party Starter off.

“I just find it silly that he’s bragging about it when he doesn’t even know what it is or the significance of it,” Hawkins said. “I’ve known Zack longer than anyone in this company and he’s not a fan of Japanese wrestling. He never watched it before in his life, so I find that tweet he put out with [the jacket] very ironic.”

Even more upsetting to Hawkins was another fashion staple of sports-entertainment’s past that was presented to several Superstars in addition to the jackets: Zubaz pants.

“They brought us steak and then they brought us Zubaz. It was awesome,” Punk said.

The brightly colored, baggy zebra print pants were made famous, in part, by WWE Hall of Famers The Road Warriors in the early 1990s and became an essential part of a Superstar’s wardrobe, along with, yes, fanny packs.

Today’s Superstars mostly joked about the loud pants, thinking they would remain a relic of the past. Then, they put them on.

“They’re really, really comfortable,” The Straight Edge Superstar admitted.

Hawkins agrees. Though he didn’t get them from Ribera, The Party Starter bought a pair of Zubaz and wore a fanny pack as part of his Halloween costume. “Zubaz pants are so comfortable, the fanny pack is so convenient, all your stuff is right there,” he explained. “I get what [former Superstars] were thinking at the time. Convenience and comfort.”

During the last show of the tour, John Cena may have officially signaled the return of Zubaz to sports-entertainment. Wearing his Ribera Steakhouse jacket to the ring, the leader of the Cenation did battle in a pair of red and white Zubaz.

“The tour was exhausting, I wanted to do it to pick up morale and give everyone something to talk about,” Cena said.

For Punk, it may become a part of his regular attire. “Zubaz, fanny packs, Ribera jacket, maybe sunglasses indoors, high tops untied. It’s an homage to my elders,” added the WWE Champion

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS 12/5/2011

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS
12/5/2011
in TAMPA, Fla. — Dubbing himself "Mr. Excitement," Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis sent John Cena, The Miz, Alberto Del Rio and United States Champion Dolph Ziggler into action to decide who would face WWE Champion CM Punk at WWE TLC in two weeks.

John Cena, U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio and The Miz argued over who deserves to face WWE Champion CM Punk
Everyone wants to hold the WWE Title, but which Superstar deserves to face WWE Champion CM Punk? That’s what Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis had to decide when he broke up the bickering of John Cena, United States Champion Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio and The Miz.

Proving that he’s not as dull as The Straight Edge Superstar says he is, the executive came up with this decision — Miz, Ziggler and Del Rio would compete against SmackDown Superstars tonight and if they win, they will be entered in the WWE Championship Match at WWE TLC in two weeks. Cena, on the other hand, would undergo a “social experiment” that the GM had dreamt up.

John Cena def. Zack Ryder
Although they’re good friends outside of the ring, John Cena and Zack Ryder were forced to battle tonight as a part of a “social experiment” concocted by John Laurinaitis. If Ryder won this bout, he would earn a future United States Title opportunity. If Cena was victorious, he would compete for the WWE Title at WWE TLC.
With stakes high, both Superstars battled with everything they had, but it was the Cenation leader who grabbed the victory. Still, even with the win, the powerful competitor didn’t look happy as he exited.

Zack Ryder def. World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry in a Title-free Match
After John Cena agreed to forfeit his WWE Championship opportunity at WWE TLC if Zack Ryder was given a second chance, John Laurinaitis scheduled this bout with obvious intentions to see Long Island Iced-Z crushed.
But what seemed like an insurmountable obstacle for The “Woo Woo Woo Kid” soon turned to triumph as the Cenation leader blasted Mark Henry with an Attitude Adjustment in this no count-out, no disqualification match to help Ryder score the win. The spray-tanned Superstar now has a future United States Title Match against Dolph Ziggler.

WWE Wants Title Redesigned

WWE.com has published an article pleading for WWE to abandon the present “Spinner Title” design and return to the pride and tradition radiated by past WWE Titles. The article lists the prestigious replacements from which to pick and offers opinions from John Cena, The Miz and current strap holder CM Punk. “The Voice of the Voiceless” is very much in favor of change.

“YES! [The current title] is old and passé,” said Punk. “It’s gaudy and ugly. It says “Champ” instead of Champion! That’s ridiculous. I need a dignified title, not a blinged out rapper accessory.”

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS
11/28/2011

in COLUMBIA, S.C. — An incendiary confrontation between “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and John Cena on “Piper’s Pit” set the stage for an aggressive Raw SuperShow that featured another brutal assault from The Miz and the first title defense of WWE Champion CM Punk

John Cena entered “Piper’s Pit” with “Rowdy” Roddy Piper
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper has never shied away from controversy, so WWE fans weren’t exactly surprised when Hot Rod flat-out asked John Cena if the WWE Universe’s boos were starting to get to him. Always cool under pressure, the Cenation leader refused to gripe and instead insisted that he can’t control the way the crowd reacts, but he can control what happens in the ring.
Cena’s honorable response did not convince Piper, who made it clear that if the powerful Superstar doesn’t face his critics before WrestleMania, he may suffer for it. The Scotsman then added an exclamation to his statement by handing the former WWE Champion his Hall of Fame ring before slapping him across the face.

Although he was rattled by the strike, Cena did not attack the fiery legend. Instead, he returned the ring and quietly exited the squared circle.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS
11/21/2011
in HERSHEY, Pa. — With the “Rock Bottom Heard ‘Round the World” still resounding throughout the WWE Universe, John Cena attempted to set the issue straight. Instead, the Cenation leader created an entirely different issue between the members of The “Awesome Truth.”
John Cena embarrassed The “Awesome Truth”; The Miz laid R-Truth out
In the middle of addressing The Rock’s attack on him, John Cena was interrupted, as usual, by The “Awesome Truth.” Looking to rile up the Cenation leader,

The Awesome One and his dangerous crony got more than they bargained for when Cena turned the tables and convinced both Superstars that they shouldn’t trust one another.

The Cenation’s leader’s seeds of doubt quickly grew into a serious issue between the partners in crime, leading to pushing and shoving in the ring. As politically savvy as ever, The Miz managed to calm his partner down, but as soon as R-Truth turned his back, his former friend nailed him with a blistering Skull-Crushing Finale on the steel entrance ramp.

Survivor Series 2011 Pay-Per-View Results

Survivor Series Pay-Per-View Results
11/20/2011 in New York

A hallowed institution situated at the core of the Big Apple, Madison Square Garden has bore a dynasty of cherished WWE moments – Jimmy Snuka’s steel cage-top leap, the WWE Title bout that sparked Hulkamania in 1984, The Game’s exultant return from injury in 2002 and so many more. Add to that list the night “The Most Charismatic Tag Team of All Time” came to The Mecca of Sports-Entertainment to put aside their approaching WrestleMania XXVIII dream match and instead put boots to the asses of The “Awesome Truth.” Though John Cena wasn’t exactly safe from said footwear.

Never before, never again would The Rock and John Cena, arguably the biggest stars in the WWE Universe, stand aligned. But the single instance in which they did – collectively deconstructing The Miz & R-Truth at Survivor Series in The World’s Most Famous Arena – will be remembered by the WWE Universe forever. More so, The Cenation Commander-in-Chief won’t soon forget the emphatic Rock Bottom he received after the match from his teammate and archrival.

Worldwide, droves of WWE fans, Superstars, Legends – literally everyone – wondered how the Cenation leader and The Great One could possibly keep it together. Precisely 133 nights before their rock of ages collision at The Show of Shows on April 1, the vast, clash-ready personalities of The Rock and Cena paired to combat a reckless, riotous twosome hell-bent on eclipsing the ’Mania-bound icons.

As the New York crowd eagerly vocalized, The Great One’s still got it. Both starting and finishing the bout, The Rock showed no such “ring rust” and was perhaps even more electrifying than ever. A win-ending People’s Elbow to The Miz made The Brahma Bull’s return to action a glorious one, but the exclamatory statement to Cena in the aftermath was an aggressive reminder of the joust five months away on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

This unlikely union was forged seven years after Cena (at his first-ever WrestleMania) and The Rock passed like two vessels in the night, much like the NYC buses featuring their iconic faces in the streets outside the Garden. When offered a teammate of his choosing by Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis, The Cenation Commander-in-Chief did the unthinkable, selecting a man who hadn’t seen competition since his last match in 2004, ironically, inside MSG. In the end, it seemed Cena picked the right tag team partner after all.

Fueled by the entwined lineage of his family and the Garden, The Great One returned home at Survivor Series. At the same annual event in which his WWE career was born in 1996, The People’s Champion reignited his thirst for serving smackdown and the timing couldn’t be better. In mere months, his teammate tonight will turn to rival in the most highly anticipated match in WrestleMania history.

Despite a shared victory in New York City, Cena and The Rock ended their night with locked eyes, looking past the physical forms before them and envisioning the spectacle ahead in Miami. While a Rock Bottom rattled the “Reunion” star, who seemed accepting of the crowd’s favor of The People’s Champ, a yet even grander stage awaits these titans.

What unique yet intersecting Roads to WrestleMania will The Great One and the Cenation leader trace to April 1? Time tells all.
