WWE Universe votes John Cena winner of musical showdown on Raw

The Great One brought the house down with his Rock Concert, but for the WWE Universe, John Cena was still the one who rocked the house harder.

The results of our Facebook poll are in, and as of Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET, Cena's old-school rap was voted as the performance that "won the night on Raw SuperShow" by more than 2,400 votes.

Here are the totals for the poll that was posted immediately after Monday night's Raw SuperShow:

John Cena's rap – 12,192

The Great One's Rock Concert – 9,731

It's a slam dunk musical victory for The Cenation Commander-in-Chief, who blistered his WrestleMania XXVIII opponent on the mic with insult-laced rhymes. The Rock retorted with a verbal assault of his own at the close of the show, but the WWE Universe was still hearing Cena's opening shot loud and clear

CLEVELAND – A wish comes true for a local boy who met his hero on Monday night at Quicken Loans Arena.

Dylan Christian, 12, spent time with WWE superstar John Cena, who was in Cleveland for the WWE Raw SuperShow.

Cena stepped out of the ring to meet Dylan, who was recently diagnosed with cancer for the fourth time.

The seventh-grader from Conneaut already lost an eye to the disease and his mom died following a cancer diagnosis a few years ago.

“He’s waited, counted down the days to be able to come and meet John Cena,” said Dylan’s dad, Brian. “I thank everybody that helped him and prayed for him and helped him get here. It’s truly amazing and I’m glad he was able to meet him.”

Cena is a 6’1”, 250 pound champion who holds numerous WWE titles, but for Dylan, he’s a hero.

“He’s honest and he tells the truth and he shows respect about himself,” said Dylan.

His dad, grandfather and best friend joined him at The Q with 15,000 fans for the sold out show.

In his meeting with John Cena, the attention was solely on Dylan.

“We all have things that we draw from and things that keep us positive and that’s no matter where you are in life and I’m a true believer in positive thinking,” said Cena.

“Just the fact to see him smile and not just be sleeping, is, well, it’s a blessing and John brought such a major smile to him, he’ll never forget and I know I won’t,” said Roy Allums, Dylan’s grandfather.

John Cena is hoping to see Dylan again at WrestleMania XXVIII on April 1 in Miami, Florida.

He’s offering the family round-trip tickets, but whether Dylan can go will depend on his health.

Right now, his family is taking it one day at a time.

John Cena took to his twitter and tweeted about Dylan:

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS

3/12/2012

in CLEVELAND -- With WrestleMania XXVIII a mere three weeks away, John Cena and The Rock use mics and instruments as weaponry as the two rivals continue to gear up for their "Once in a Lifetime" match in Miami. Will The Most Electrifying Man in Entertainment outperform The Cenation Commander-in-Chief in a musical clash of rock versus rap? Stay with WWE.com for live results of tonight's Raw SuperShow while we keep our eyes and ears peeled on these two multi-talented Superstars.

"The Doctor of Thuganomics" returned for one night only to rock the mic for the sold-out Cleveland crowd. Sporting an old-school Mark Price Cleveland Cavaliers jersey and his trademark padlock on a chain, Cena took shots at The Great One right off the bat, comparing him to LeBron James and dubbing him "G.I. Joke." Cena pulled no punches as he broke down The Rock, rhyme by rhyme, before closing with a bold prediction for their WrestleMania XXVIII match.

The Cleveland faithful gave The Rock a rousing ovation before he even grabbed the mic and his guitar, and The Great One returned the love, saying they should be chanting "Cleveland! Cleveland!" instead of "Rocky! Rocky!"

The Rock then poked fun at Cena's hip-hop style, saying he looked like a mash-up between Vanilla Ice and one of the Teletubbies. The Brahma Bull, who was just getting warmed up, started to berate Cena with a barrage of insults to the tune of Elvis Presley's Jailhouse Rock. No topics were off limits for The Rock, as he took jabs at The Cenation Commander-in-Chief's rocky relationship with Eve before moving on to blasting the appearance of the members of Cenation. The Rock didn't stop there, taking aim at Cena's own mother by claiming she "could barely walk."

In a fitting finale, The Great One switched up the lyrics to Queen's We Will Rock You and took some parting shots at Cena as the crowd joined in with "Cena sucks!" between verses. Thanks for stopping by our Blog, CeNation!

in BOSTON – As the WWE Universe races toward WrestleMania XXVIII, The Rock and John Cena continued their war of words, Shawn Michaels revealed himself as guest referee for Triple H vs. The Undertaker, and Santino Morella scored won the U.S. Championship in a historic, jam-packed edition of Raw SuperShow. Also, the power struggle between Teddy Long and John Laurinaitis grew even fiercer, as the WWE Board of Directors’ GM-swap experiment became a reality

The Rock educates John Cena at historic locations throughout Boston

While in Boston for Raw SuperShow, The Rock took to the streets to film "history lessons" tailored to Massachusetts' native son John Cena.

The Rock and John Cena resumed their war of words

One week after his epic confrontation with The Rock on Raw SuperShow, Massachusetts native John Cena entered Boston’s sold-out TD Garden to address last week’s headline-grabbing showdown. Describing The Rock as the “Michael Jordan of the mic,” Cena said that he did the unthinkable by getting the better of The Rock in their verbal exchange and turning tongue-tied the normally unflappable Great One.

Wondering whether the Superstar who shows up April 1 will be the “dude who talks about Chinese takeout” or the greatest Superstar in WWE history, Cena said he hopes The Rock who appears in Miamia is at his best WrestleMania day.

Having heard enough, The Rock entered the arena and dismissed the possibility that Cena had shaken The Great One last week. Rather, The Rock said that he senses fear and doubt in Cena’s words. If Cena loses, the Rock continued, it will negate all off Cena’s many accomplishments in WWE – a point that the Cenation leader conceded.

However, it was Cena eventually scored the last word in this battle, telling The Rock – who by that point had returned to the locker room area – that if he believes Cena’s lost his confidence, then The Rock has lost his mind

in PORTLAND - With The Road to WrestleMania fully underway, The Rock returned to Raw SuperShow to address his WrestleMania opponent John Cena. Also, the tension between SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long and Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis continued to intensify with rumors circulating about the state of both brands. Also, the rivalry between Chris Jericho and WWE Champion CM Punk reaches a boiling point with both Superstars ready to prove who is the best in the world.

John Cena def. The Miz

Nearly a year removed from their epic clash at WrestleMania XXVII, John Cena battled The Miz on WWE Raw Supershow. Before the contest was underway, The Miz needed to get something off his chest.

The Miz claimed that no one has worked harder than he has, but yet he is upset because he does not have a match at WrestleMania. The Miz was fully prepared to prove he was ready for WrestleMania by defeating the same Superstar he defeated at The Show of Shows last year.

When The Awesome One was done talking, the opening bell rang and the two Superstars immediately collided. Both Cena and The Miz has something at stake in this contest. Somewhere, The Rock was watching John Cena's every move, no doubt studying Cena's style and strategy. For The Miz, this was a great opportunity for him to prove he is ready to main event another WrestleMania. Momentum swings were fairly even in the contest, but Cena's offensive continually proved to be much more effective. Following an Attitude Adjustment, Cena locked Miz in the STF for the victory.

The Rock addressed the WWE Universe

The Great One returned to WWE Raw SuperShow to remind the WWE Universe that without them, The Rock would never exist. The Brahama Bull then turned his attention to his WrestleMania XXVIII opponent John Cena. The Rock had many choice words for John Cena and whenever he hurled an insult at his WrestleMania opponent, the Portland crowd would chant in unison.

The Great One explained to John Cena that he was fighting for the people and that he lived to entertain the people. As The People's Champion continued, John Cena made his way to the ring to counter The Rock's insults and fire back his own.

When Cena left, The Rock said it didn't matter what Cena said, at WrestleMania, both Superstars would put everything on the line.

WWE Talent Ordered To Not Injure John Cena Before WM28

With WrestleMania 28 just weeks away, WWE is taking extra precautions to make sure the main event match that’s been almost a year in the making is not jeopardized due to an injury.

WWE has seen a slew of recent injuries to top stars, including Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Mark Henry, Alberto Del Rio, Christian, Sin Cara and Wade Barrett, with several others including R-Truth and Dolph Ziggler having scary close calls.

According to a report at WrestleZone.com, WWE chairman Vince McMahon has instructed any talent that works with Cena to be very careful in the ring and not to take any “unneeded” risks.

WWE has millions of dollars at stake with the big John Cena vs. The Rock match and an injury would be absolutely devastating.

The Rock won’t be wrestling any matches between now and WrestleMania.
